Episode 28: Rich Black Men Are Psychopathic

Rich Black men live to indulge themselves and strive to cultivate the richest, most flagrantly hedonistic experiences you could know. These men are celebrities, clergy, politicians, and other powerful figures within the community who manipulate our reality for their gain. Rich Black men aren’t always actually wealthy but are viewed as wealthy by other Black people. These men have achieved the collective aspirations of a popular Black underclass.

For them, wealth provides an escape from many inconvenient racial truths, as well as access to the power of influence. Whether through subtle use or overt manipulation, rich Black men use their power to, in some way, terrorize every Black community by furthering the prolific and systemic exploitation of Black women in particular.

The Abuse of Power

Black Rich vs. Rich Rich

Black rich is different than rich rich in that white people who are Black rich are considered not to be that rich at all. Additionally, to be rich rich is to also have access to or to in some way be associated with old money. Comparatively few wealthy Black men around the world are born into generational wealth.

Rich Black men are psychopathic and will take anything from you that you have to offer. Many are men who rapidly elevated their income, class, or status after coming from very little prior to this point in their lives.

Like many nouveau riche, rich Black men are terrified of losing their privilege. The fear of losing the ease, peace, and independence with which they now move through the world, or the respect they now experience as part of an elevated social class, plagues every rich Black man more than the fear of poverty once did. They are deeply insecure of any threat — real or perceived — to their new identity.

In a close or trusted relationship with one of these men, they wield new power to influence you as well as to indulge their sense of entitlement. The more money they make, the more their entitlement increases. You feel lost as you give more of your control to someone focused only on their own self-preservation.

Their abuses of power can manifest in various ways.

But what all Black men have in common, however, is who they become when they make more money than they’ve ever had.

The Role of Manipulation

Rich Black men manipulate, deceive, and exploit you in order to maintain their advantage(s) in your relationship, whatever the nature of your relationship may be. A strong lack of empathy or remorse, and a pronounced willingness to use you for their gain are psychopathic traits that become more blatant the longer you tolerate or ignore their behavior.

Manipulation in the Black community is often carried out through exploitation. When too many of our powerful people — and let’s be honest — many times, most of these people are men — victimize us, widespread disillusionment decreases our trust in our race and in ourselves. We feel confused, powerless, and betrayed, yet our loyalty to these men endures. Exploitation and manipulation are hallmarks of psychopathy that Black men seem keen to embrace.

To manipulate through exploitation is nothing new, but Black men increasingly seem to have an easier time embracing this behavior.

Coping with Exploitation

Know that when you love any man with money, your own lies — all your hopes and dreams for the future, and all the ways you justify his past and present abuses, will be what seduces you into harm’s way. This is how manipulators like to work.

Many rich Black men attribute their blessings or advantages to faith in God. But these men are terrible at showing humility and once you stop expecting it from them, their behavior makes total sense.

Believing a rich man’s lies rarely pays enough to tolerate degradation. You’ll eventually want something that fulfills you in a way that his status does not. Your man’s life and wealth will heavily influence how positively or negatively you perceive yourself and reality.

When it comes to loving a wealthy Black man, however, it is far more likely that you will succumb to a mire of self-doubt as they yo-yo between loving and hating you every day. A Black man with money will keep you around as needed but you will not be the only woman he is keeping. You will feel exploited yet also grateful most days, that this man has chosen you to exploit.

Therein lies the cope until that part of your conscience dies.
